During the 2025-2026 school year, our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students at Bowie Elementary School had the incredible opportunity to connect with students from Zschorlau, Germany, through a meaningful international virtual exchange.

Thanks to the kind invitation of Mrs. Michaela Radeck, our students spent several weeks getting to know one another by sharing videos about their schools, classrooms, favorite subjects, daily routines, hobbies, and school activities. These exchanges gave them the chance to explore another culture while building confidence in communicating in English.

To conclude the project, students worked alongside their families to prepare their favorite recipe, wrote it in English, and documented the experience with photos. It was wonderful to see their excitement, creativity, and pride as they shared a piece of their culture with new friends across the world.

This project was about so much more than practicing English—it was about building global connections, celebrating cultural diversity, and helping students realize that learning can bring people together, no matter how many miles apart they are.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Michaela Radeck for inviting us to collaborate and for making this memorable experience possible. We are also grateful for the thoughtful cookbook you sent us, a wonderful keepsake that will remind us of this special partnership.

We are so proud of our students for representing Bowie Elementary School with kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

Here’s to new friendships, cultural exchange, and learning without borders! 🌎✨📚❤️
